H. Sterling Burnett, Ph.D.

The Truth About... Going Green

H. Sterling Burnett is a senior fellow with the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA), a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and education institute in Dallas, Texas. While he works on a number of issues, he specializes in issues involving environmental and energy policy.

Along with being a senior fellow with the NCPA, Dr. Burnett also serves as an adviser to the American Legislative Exchange Council Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Task Force in the Texas Comptroller's e-Texas commission (1996 - Present); a senior fellow with the Texas Public Policy Foundation (2005 - Present); and a contributing editor to Environment & Climate News (2005 -- Present). In 2005, Dr. Burnett served as President of the Dallas Woods and Water Conservation Club and presently serves on its Board of Directors.

Dr. Burnett's articles and opinion pieces have been published in Ethics, Environmental Ethics, Environmental Values, The Review of Metaphysics, International Studies in Philosophy, The World and I, USA Today and the Washington Post and more.

He has also been featured as a policy issues spokesman on various nationally syndicated radio and television talk shows. Burnett received his Ph.D. in 2001 from Bowling Green State University. His doctoral dissertation was "Ecosystemic Goods: The Pros and Cons of a Property Rights Approach."
